The Ligue Des Nations 2025 (LDN 2025) marks the latest edition of the premier international volleyball circuit for both men’s and women’s national teams. Organized by the Fédération Internationale de Volleyball (FIVB), the tournament brings together 16 men’s and 16 women’s squads to compete over a six‑week period, culminating in a high‑stakes final round that decides the champion and influences world rankings.

Beyond the fierce competition, LDN 2025 serves as a vital preparation platform for the 2028 Olympic Games, allowing teams to test line‑ups, integrate younger talent, and gauge the effectiveness of new tactical approaches introduced during the 2024 season.

Competition Format and Calendar

LDN 2025 follows a two‑phase structure: a preliminary round‑robin phase and a final round consisting of quarter‑finals, semi‑finals, and the championship match.

Preliminary Phase

Each team plays 12 matches across three “weeks,” facing a rotating set of opponents. Points are awarded as follows:

3 points for a 3‑0 or 3‑1 win
2 points for a 3‑2 win
1 point for a 2‑3 loss
0 points for a 0‑3 or 1‑3 loss

The top eight teams in each gender’s ranking after the preliminary phase advance to the knockout stage.

Final Round

The quarter‑finals are seeded (1 vs 8, 2 vs 7, etc.) and played as single‑match eliminations. Winners move on to the semi‑finals, and the two victorious squads contest the championship while the defeated semi‑finalists play for the bronze medal.
